What is Academic Freedom? A Reasoned and Reasonable Defence

This article aims to comprehend the concept of academic freedom which is here defined as professional freedom, whose reverse side is academic ethics. This reasonable and moderate conception of academic freedom is exemplified by the distinction, when it comes to professors and researchers, between two types of free speech: within and outside academia.
