Prometheus or the social contract

Before becoming the iconic symbol of scientific mastership of nature in modern times, the myth of Prometheus was mobilized in ancient Greece successively by cosmogonic poetry, tragedy and philosophy as a heuristic tool to think the conflicting interactions between normative rationality and instrumental rationality in human societies.
