Luxury fine wines and transnational elites in Hong Kong

In a few decades, French fine wines have been incorporated as one of the major luxury goods in social exchanges in China and also in the world of a transnational elite organizing social exchanges between Beijing and the rest of the world. This article offers an ethnographic immersion within the commanderie du Bontemps, a brotherhood of Bordeaux wines, that promotes these grands crus by increasing activities on the island of Hong Kong, which has become the global wine hub.
