English
This paper highlights the dream collection (1872-1908) of French philosopher Victor Egger. It analyzes the interplay between his psychology and his dream writing practices. How did Egger theorize a “polyphonic” conception of dreams and create private workshop of some sort that combined his own dream narratives, those of his father, of his male friends, of his wife and daughter ? How did he mold his own dreams on scientific and sometimes erotic examples ? How did his professional teaching activity and mainly the Franco-Prussian war of 1870 create his nightmares for a long time ? By the end of his life, Egger had become a recognized dream specialist. He received a letter written by Bergson on this subject, which is edited in this paper.
