By Alexis Metzger, Jérémy Desarthe
English

In the second half of the 19th century, French painters started representing floodings. This paper aims at scrutinizing the types of weather associated with these climatic events. It studies the works of art in the light of the geoclimatology. The paintings of Sisley and those representing the 1910 floods in Paris and its surroundings will be particularly analyzed.
