Figures
By Nicolas RoinsardEnglish
This paper describes and analyzes the three historical and sociological ages of poverty in the French Overseas regions: a long-standing poverty integrated in the social organization of the plantation society, an assisted one due to the late deployment of welfare benefits, and more recently a poverty challenged by social movements questioning the mechanisms of social reproduction in the postcolonial context.
