In the wake of his fieldwork in the Kanak community, Alban Bensa progressively choose to conjugate the scientific research and the political commitment. This stance is acknowledged, all the more so as it establishes the peculiarity and the specificity of an ethnologist’s itinerary through New Caledonia.
