The Skin as an Object of Fascination

In this article we address a specific category of performances, similar to Body Art and art corporel, which uses the body, specifically the skin, as a medium. Using a historical perspective, we look at the remnants ofpast performances such as photographs and archives, and recontextualize the inquiries that have emerged from them.
