Looking for a way to include “perception” in our understanding of social actions, this paper follows the lead of using an ecological approach to perception. This study adds “auditory perception” and broadens the outlook by taking how events are perceived into account. It proposes a descriptive tool that can be used to encompass urban situations dealt with on a daily basis: “events affordances.”
