City Noises
This volume focuses on the paradox that seems to characterize city noises: on the one hand, the drop in the threshold of auditory tolerance faced with noise said to be constantly increasing; on the other hand, the incapacity of imagining a silent city, as if this will make it cease to be a city. The various authors take this as a starting point and an indicator of the wealth of an issue focused on city noises.
